Amita Health taps Doug Carter as CFO

Lisle, Ill.-based Amita Health has named Richard Douglas “Doug” Carter CFO, effective April 13, the health system announced Feb. 24.

Mr. Carter will join Amita Health from St. Louis-based SSM Health, a 23-hospital organization, where he has served as system vice president of finance since 2017.

His other experience includes controller and accounting supervisor at Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s Lutheran Medical Center in St. Louis and controller at West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton, Fla. He was also CFO of Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis; Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis; Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.; Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala.; Tenet’s Birmingham market; and the Central Division of Tenet.

Mr. Carter has an MBA from Saint Louis University in St. Louis. He is a certified public accountant.
