Adventist Health, based in Roseville, Calif., has appointed two new leaders to oversee its Southern California hospital campuses and affiliated sites, the system said in a Jan. 16 news release.
Alice Issai was named president of the Southern California Network, which includes four acute care hospitals: Adventist Health Glendale, Adventist Health Simi Valley, Adventist Health White Memorial and Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello.
Ms. Issai previously served as president of Adventist Health’s Glendale–Simi Valley service area, where she led operations at the Glendale facility, a 510-bed community medical center, and the 120-bed Simi Valley hospital.
In her new role, Ms. Issai will be supported by Daniel Fontoura, who was named president of Adventist Health White Memorial and Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello, according to the release.
Mr. Fontoura most recently served as senior vice president and COO at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Merriam, Kan., where he helped lead the development of cancer, heart and vascular, gastrointestinal and surgical programs.
The leadership changes come as Adventist Health modifies its service area models in California and Oregon after acquiring hospitals from Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.
“This new geographically aligned network model will build strong relationships and more integration in the years ahead,” Adventist Health President and CEO Kerry Heinrich said in the release. “Alice’s collaborative leadership style will foster strong partnerships within the Southern California Network, resulting in durable clinical safety and quality in the communities we serve. Daniel brings a proven track record of operational excellence and physician collaboration, and his experience building high-performing clinical programs will be an important asset as we strengthen care delivery across these markets.”
Adventist Health has more than 440 sites of care across the West Coast and Hawaii.
