3 execs with Broward Health ties going after health district CEO position: 5 things to know

At least three executives with ties to scandalized Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health are vying for the CEO position at Health Care District of Palm Beach County Palm Springs, Fla., according to a report from The Palm Beach Post.

Here are five things to know about candidates for the position.

1. The health district board has confirmed there are at least five candidates to be interviewed for the CEO position that has been held by Nicholas Romanello, according to the report.

2. Those to be interviewed include Broward Health COO Paul D. Echelard and Calvin E. Glidewell Jr., CEO of Broward Health Medical Center and Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, both in Fort Lauderdale.

3. Other candidates include:

  • Darcy Davis, COO of the health district
  • L. Lee Isley, CEO of Granville Health System in Oxford, N.C.
  • Tony Snyder, an executive who runs Millersburg, Ohio-based Pomerene Hospital

4. According to The Palm Beach Post, former Broward Health COO Joseph Rogers is also apparently vying for the health district CEO position.

5. The candidates are vying for the CEO spot during a trying time for Broward Health. Nabil El Sanadi, MD, the health system’s president and CEO, was found dead in his condominium from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in January. A private investigator has also claimed the late Dr. El Sanadi hired him last spring for an investigation into the public system that led to FBI involvement.
