11 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

The following hospital and health system CEO moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Copley Health Systems in Morrisville, Vt., named Arthur "Art" Mathisen president and CEO.

2. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) fired Ron Adler, the CEO of Western State Hospital, a Lakewood, Wash.-based psychiatric facility, after two patients deemed "dangerous" escaped.

3. Bobby Arnold, CEO of Jackson-based West Tennessee Healthcare, resigned.

4. Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky., hired Gary R. Colberg as its new president and CEO.

5. Larry Gold, CEO of Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, has left his post to pursue other opportunities.

6. New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C., appointed COO John Gizdic the successor for president and CEO Jack Barto, who is retiring.

7. Great Bend (Kan.) Regional Hospital named Kerry Noble CEO.

8. New CEOs were named at Florida Hospital New Smyrna in New Smyrna Beach and Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast. Ken Mattison, CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler, was appointed CEO of Florida Hospital New Smyrna, formerly Bert Fish Medical Center. Ronald Jimenez, MD, was named the new CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler.

9. Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System named Aurelio M. Fernandez III president and CEO.

10. John Gardner will begin serving as the Telluride (Colo.) Hospital District's CEO in June.

11. Dave Morlock, CEO of University of Toledo (Ohio) Medical Center, will leave his job June 1.
