Robert Half Technology, an IT staffing company, surveyed more than 2,500 CIOs in 25 metropolitan areas around the United States. Respondents ranked their overall job satisfaction on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the highest.

A separate study from Robert Half, Robert Half Technology’s parent company, found technology professionals rated three factors among the biggest drivers of job satisfaction: pride in their organization, feeling appreciated and interest in their work. The study was conducted among more than 12,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada.
