VA Selects ASM Research to Upgrade EHR System

The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded ASM Research a three-year, $162 million contract to upgrade the system's electronic health record system, according to a news release.

ASM Research will focus on strengthening and expanding the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture Clinical Application and Enterprise Core Services, the health IT system of the VA.

The aims of the project are to allow for greater interoperability of systems and implement higher security standards. ASM Research will also update VistA's Computerized Patient Record System to allow clinicians to access and mange patient records online, according to the news release.
