UPMC, Altoona Regional Health Negotiate Affiliation Terms

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Altoona (Pa.) Regional Health System have agreed to conditions of a prospective affiliation, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.

Altoona first announced its plans to affiliate with UPMC in November. Now, both parties have signed a letter of intent to negotiate the deal and are completing due diligence.

Altoona Regional includes a total of 380 beds and is located roughly 100 miles east of Pittsburgh.
