University College London Hospitals selects Epic for EHR system

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust picked Epic over competitor Cerner to supply its EHR, according to DigitalHealth.net.

In an email to staff members, the system said interoperability was one of the reasons behind the decision, according to the report.

If the health system continues with the intended deployment, it will be the second system in England to use Epic’s EHR. Cambridge (England) University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust implemented Epic’s system in October 2014.
