Top health IT vendors for 5 uses: data analytics, patient engagement & more

A new report from Reaction Data highlights how healthcare leaders prioritize IT suppliers and systems.

To compile the report — titled Big Mega HIT Purchasing: What are providers purchasing? — Reaction Data asked C-suite executives and directors from hospitals, health systems and physician groups how they plan to spend their IT budgets.

Here are the top EHR vendors respondents are considering for five common health IT functionalities.

1. Inpatient EHR

  • Epic: 40 percent
  • Cerner: 39 percent
  • Meditech: 34 percent

2. Outpatient EHR

  • Epic: 45 percent
  • Cerner: 32 percent
  • Meditech: 31 percent

3. Data analytics

  • Epic: 33 percent
  • IBM: 25 percent
  • Cerner, Meditech: 21 percent

4. Patient engagement

  • Epic: 37 percent
  • Press Ganey: 29 percent
  • Cerner: 24 percent

5. Population health management

  • Cerner: 35 percent
  • Epic: 31 percent
  • Allscripts: 21 percent
