Top 10 countries with the highest digital quality of life

Despite a collective focus on digitization and data privacy, the U.S. was not among a new report‘s ranking of the 10 nations with the best digital quality of life.

The Digital Quality of Life report, from online security provider Surfshark, assessed 65 nations’ internet speed and cost, personal data protection laws, e-government availability, entertainment content availability and cybersecurity protections. By this measure, the U.S. ranked eleventh, despite scoring in the top three in the individual rankings for e-government availability and cybersecurity.

In order, the countries ranked just ahead of the U.S. for overall digital quality of life are:

1. Australia

2. France

3. Singapore

4. Norway

5. Japan

6. Canada

7. Denmark

8. South Korea

9. Italy

10. Sweden
