Philadelphia-based Temple Health is searching for an executive vice president and chief information and digital officer, expanding the scope of its top IT leadership role to include digital health, artificial intelligence and data strategy.
The executive will oversee IT, digital health, data and analytics, clinical informatics and cybersecurity across the system, according to a Sept. 24 job posting. The role will lead about 350 employees and report to Temple Health’s president and CEO, with direct access to the board on technology strategy, risk and investment.
The incoming leader will also be responsible for continued Epic optimization and establishing enterprise standards for AI evaluation, governance and responsible deployment, including vendor selection, model oversight and return-on-investment measurement. Other priorities include expanding consumer-facing digital capabilities and strengthening data governance and cybersecurity.
The search follows the August retirement of Debbie Cancilla, who served as executive vice president of data strategy and CIO. Vinay Bharel, senior vice president of information systems operations, was named interim CIO following her retirement.
