Telehealth


Nearly 80 healthcare organizations are calling on Congress to extend telehealth flexibilities established during the COVID-19 pandemic for at least two more years, warning that failure to do so would disrupt care and create uncertainty for patients and clinicians.

The Drug Enforcement Administration extended the flexibilities enacted during the COVID-19 pandemic that allows healthcare providers to prescribe specific controlled substances via telehealth. 

On the first day Farmington, Conn.-based UConn John Dempsey Hospital deployed telesitters, the hospital avoided two potential patient falls, the organization said in a Nov. 7 post. 

CMS released the 2025 Physician Fee Schedule final rule Nov. 1, including a plan to preserve certain telehealth flexibilities beyond the expiring temporary pandemic-era measures.

Zoom is teaming up with Suki, a developer of AI healthcare technology, to offer healthcare providers AI-powered clinical note-generation capabilities.
