Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health has co-developed a virtual cardiology support model that is now being commercialized.
The model, called Auxira Health, was developed through MedStar’s Connected Cardiology program and is designed to address widespread capacity constraints in cardiovascular care, according to a May 22 news release. It embeds remote clinical teams directly into cardiology practices, enabling cardiologists to focus on patient care while support staff manage administrative and clinical tasks.
The virtual support “pods” are composed of advanced practice providers, registered nurses and medical assistants who work remotely within existing EHR and billing systems.
MedStar serves as a strategic investor, anchor customer and co-developer of Auxira Health.
