Genetic counseling is able to help patients and providers determine genetic test appropriateness and interpret genetic test results. PWNHealth — a virtual care company focused on diagnostic testing, treatment and guidance — provides its genetic counseling services through phone and video conferencing.
Ambry Genetics officials said the partnership aims to complement the company’s existing services, which comprise more than 100 genetic counselors as part of its hereditary genetic testing portfolio of services.
“[PWNHealth’s] genetic counseling service augments our comprehensive product portfolio nicely and gives clinicians a much-needed hand to identify hereditary risk in underserved patients and help guide their medical care,” said Brigette Tippin Davis, PhD, vice president of research and development at Ambry Genetics.
