Tech Mahindra acquires The HCI Group for $110M

Tech Mahindra, a Mumbai, India-based IT company, will acquire CJS Solutions Group, which does business as The HCI Group.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based The HCI Group is a healthcare IT consulting company that specializes in implementing EHRs. It employs a number of Epic and Cerner certified professionals.

The deal is valued at $110 million. Tech Mahindra will initially pay $89.5 million for an 84.7 percent stake in The HCI Group. The remaining 15.3 percent stake will be acquired over three years.

The deal is expected to close by April.

"I truly believe that Tech Mahindra is the right partner for us to improve the healthcare industry through a combination of disruption, innovation and cost reduction," said The HCI Group CEO Ricky Caplin in a statement. "What better way to support our customers than by joining with the global leader in digitalization and connected technologies."
