North Kansas City, Mo.-based Cerner appointed Julie Gerberding, MD, to its board of directors.
Here are four points:
1. Dr. Gerberding is currently executive vice president for strategic communications, global public policy and population health at Kenilworth, N.J.-based Merck & Co.
2. Prior to that, she was president of Merck Vaccines.
3. She was a past director of the CDC.
4. She is an adjunct associate clinical professor of medicine at UC San Francisco.
