Sutter Health, U of Utah School of Medicine execs to chair ONC’s interoperability task force

The federal Health IT Advisory Committee, which provides policy recommendations to the ONC, revealed details of a new Interoperability Standards Priorities Task Force July 13, according to the Politico Morning eHealth newsletter.

Ken Kawamoto, MD, PhD, associate chief medical informatics officer at Salt Lake City-based University of Utah School of Medicine, and Steven Lane, MD, clinical informatics officer at Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, will co-chair the task force, which the ONC charged with recommending standards to “support priority uses of health IT,” Politico reports.

The 21-member Interoperability Standards Priorities Task Force will meet for the first time July 20.
