Survey: What skills do CIOs plan to invest in? Advanced analytics, cognitive computing top the list

Securing technology and individuals with new capabilities is on the forefront of many CIOs’ minds, according to an IBM Institute for Business Value report.

Here’s how 1,805 CIOs responded when asked what skills they plan to invest in moving forward:

1. Advanced analytics, including predictive analytics and cognitive computing: 44 percent

2. Cloud computing: 40 percent

3. Security/risk management: 36 percent

4. Business process management/optimization: 33 percent

5. Mobile device diversity and management: 28 percent
