The study, “Visual Collaboration Applications in Healthcare,” shows that reduced prices and improved videoconferencing quality are the top reasons for increased adoption of telemedicine videoconferencing systems. Videoconferencing technology, which used to be an enormously expensive application in the past, now offers cost-effective and easy-to-use options for healthcare professionals.
The study cites the most significant benefits of telemedicine being its ability to extend the geographic reach of medical care and increased access to medical specialists in remote and rural areas. It also allows medical professionals to receive training and educational benefits at reduced costs. There are, however, legislative policies that limit the use of telemedicine.
