Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health will launch Epic across the health system Oct. 31, moving to a unified EHR and billing system.
The transition will also introduce Epic’s MyChart patient portal, replacing five separate patient portals with a single platform, according to a Sept. 22 news release.
Through MyChart, patients will be able to message care teams, view test results, schedule appointments, manage prescriptions, join virtual visits and access health information.
Penn State Health said the unified EHR will give clinicians and support staff greater visibility across its hospitals and outpatient practices while also supporting care coordination with other health systems.
