Surescripts Recognizes 10 Providers for e-Prescribing Excellence

Surescripts, the country's largest health information exchange network, has identified 10 hospitals and health systems that demonstrate best practices in e-prescribing.

"Surescripts is proud that our collaborative efforts with software technology providers and health systems are producing continuous quality improvements in e-prescribing using industry proven best practices," said Ajit Dhavle, PharmD, MBA, director of quality management at Surescripts, in a news release. "Continuous quality improvement in e-prescribing benefits all stakeholders by improving patient safety, lowering costs and increasing productivity."

The 10 provider recipients of the White Coat of Quality Award are:

  • Baptist Health (Little Rock, Ark.)
  • Elliot Health System (Manchester, N.H.)
  • Indian Health Service 
  • Lee Memorial Health System (Fort Myers, Fla.)
  • Mercy (Oklahoma City)
  • Mercy (Springfield, Mo.)
  • Mercy (St. Louis)
  • University Health System (San Antonio)
  • University of Mississippi Medical Center (Jackson)
  • Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, Tenn.)
