St. Charles Health Laptop Theft in Oregon Potentially Exposes More Than 140 Patients’ Info

The theft of a password-protected laptop from St. Charles Health System in Bend, Ore., may have exposed the personal health information of more than 140 patients, according to an Oregon Public Broadcasting report.

Patients’ names, dates of birth and phone numbers had been saved on the computer, but had already been deleted when the computer was stolen. The laptop was stolen from a car.
