Spectrum Health Innovations formed Ideomed in 2010 to help improve health outcomes using IT solutions for patients of the health system and its health plan, Priority Health.
Ideomed developed mobile apps for asthma and other medical conditions to help patients manage their health and conditions. Although Ideomed will cease to exist, the technologies it developed will continue to be used, according to the report.
The tech company was unable to attract sales volumes and the necessary external capital investments to continue, according to the report.
Employees of Ideomed, 26 in all, were given the opportunity to apply for positions at Spectrum Health, according to the report.
“We definitely made some significant progress over the years and are very glad the technology will go on to play a role within Spectrum Health in the future,” said Keith Brophy, CEO of Ideomed, in the report. “We are all very proud as a company and a board that we did make some great progress. We have touched lives and we have validated to some degree the technology. The proof points are a work in progress and Spectrum Health is perfectly suited to now take that along.”
