Mr. Mathur previously served as the Internal Revenue Service’s director of online services. He left the IRS last fall after six years of service at the government agency, according to Federal News Radio.
In an email to Federal News Radio, a SSA spokeswoman said Mr. Mathur “has significant expertise as a senior government and private sector executive driving large-scale transformation and handling highly complex and public-facing issues in a complex operating environment while driving innovation and change.”
Mr. Mathur will begin his post at the SSA in June, Federal News Radio reports. He will replace Rob Klopp, who left the SSA in April.
