Rio Grande Valley HIE taps Forcare for interoperability platform

Harlingen, Texas-based Rio Grande Valley Health Information Exchange selected Forcare to provide it with an interoperability platform.

The nonprofit Rio Grande Valley HIE was established in 2011 to facilitate access to health information across south Texas. Forcare's interoperability platform will allow the organization to better connect participating healthcare organizations and providers, regardless of their disparate IT systems.

"In addition to providing access to a patient's longitudinal health record, the goals of the solution are to improve care coordination, transitional care, patient engagement, assist providers in meeting MACRA requirements and enable medical research for our community," said Rio Grande Valley HIE board chairman Sheila Magoon, MD.
