Revenue trends for 4 $1B+ health IT companies

Optum has the most revenue by far among U.S.-based public health IT companies, and the first quarter of 2019 shows revenues continue to grow.

 

Among public EHR companies, both Cerner and Allscripts reported growth in 2018. Here is the breakout revenue information for the full year 2018 and the first quarter of 2019 for four $1 billion-plus publicly traded health IT companies:

1. Optum (Eden Prairie, Minn.)

Fiscal year 2018: $101.3 billion (up 11.1 percent)
First quarter of 2019: $26.4 billion (up 11.7 percent)

2. Cerner (North Kansas City, Mo.)

Fiscal year 2018: $5.4 billion (up 4 percent)
First quarter of 2019: $1.4 billion (up 8 percent)

3. Allscripts (Chicago)

Fiscal year 2018: $1.75 billion (up 17 percent)
First quarter of 2019: $432 million (flat)

4. Conifer Health Solutions (Frisco, Texas)

Fiscal year 2018: $1.5 billion (4 percent decline)
First quarter of 2019: $349 million (13.6 percent decline)
