Pioneer ACOs qualifying for MU payments on the rise

The latest progress report for Medicare accountable care organizations indicates EHR adoption among Pioneer ACOs is on the rise.

CMS released performance data for the third performance year of the Pioneer ACO program. Overall, ACOs demonstrated improvements in 28 of 33 quality measures with an average improvement of 3.6 percent across all quality measures compared to the second performance year.

Particularly, the percentage of Pioneer ACOs qualifying for an EHR incentive payment rose from 77 percent to 86 percent.

In 2014, 20 Pioneer ACOs and 333 Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs generated net savings of $411 million. For more information, click here.
