Vanderbilt Clarksville (Tenn.) Hospital will transition to Epic on Oct. 3 as part of a multimillion-dollar EHR upgrade.
The transition is part of the recently acquired hospital’s integration into Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt Health’s broader network, according to a Sept. 28 health system news release.
Vanderbilt Clarksville has invested in hundreds of new computer workstations and other technology upgrades throughout the facility to support the EHR. Additional investments include upgraded printers, scanners, networking equipment and other infrastructure.
The transition will involve virtually all hospital employees who use its EHR system, along with affiliated physicians and other clinical partners. Hundreds of Vanderbilt Health IT experts have worked with the hospital’s clinical and operational teams on the implementation, the release said.
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems completed the sale of its 80% ownership interest in Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville Hospital and a freestanding emergency room Feb. 2 for $623 million, before certain transaction expenses.
