Jump ARCHES provides grants to healthcare providers and university researchers to develop medical devices, robotics, artificial intelligence and other innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes. The new infusion will fund research projects focusing specifically on the use of mobile sensors, “internet of things” applications, data analytics and social determinants of health to advance clinical processes and medical education.
Of the new funding, $25 million came from the DiSomma Family Foundation via the OSF HealthCare Foundation, which also added $12.5 million to the pool. The University of Illinois contributed another $12.5 million. Jump ARCHES’ endowment now totals $112.5 million, believed to be the largest in the world dedicated to healthcare engineering.
