1. She initially joined IBM in October 2015 as VP and general manager of global markets for Watson Health, before assuming her current role in January 2018.
2. The spokesperson confirmed Ms. Rometty is leaving the company to pursue another, unspecified opportunity elsewhere. Prior to IBM, she held executive roles at GE Capital and Baxter International.
3. The shake-up comes not long after Deborah DiSanzo stepped down as head of Watson Health in October 2018, amid growing concerns about the efficacy of the Watson for Oncology artificial intelligence platform.
