Below are the most common uses for organizations’ consumer-facing apps (just under half of respondents reported offering more than one app):
- Monitoring chronic conditions: 53 percent
- Monitoring physical activity: 39 percent
- Monitoring nutrition intake: 36 percent
- Accessing patient portal: 19 percent
Survey results were based on responses from 170 health IT executives from a variety of healthcare organizations. About two-thirds of respondents work for hospitals or integrated delivery systems, and 14 percent for ambulatory facilities or physician practices.
