North Hawaii Community Hospital Receives Nearly 700K to Begin HIE

North Hawaii Community Hospital in Kamuela, Hawaii, received a $680,000 contract to implement a health information exchange system throughout the North Hawaii region, according to a Hawaii 24/7 report.

The exchange will impact over 32,000 patients and is a first step towards an island-wide HIE.

The contract is part of the Hawaii Island Beacon Community, a $16.11 million, island-wide, federally funded project, focused on improving healthcare across the Hawaii Island.
