The Department of Veterans Affairs collaborated with CMS, the U.S. Department of Defense and the Markle Foundation’s Consumer Engagement Workgroup to launch Blue Button in Oct. 2010. Blue Button allows veterans to engage in their healthcare by downloading, updating and sharing their medical records and downloading medical appointment schedules, laboratory results and prescription histories.
