The exchange will enable medical record sharing between hospitals across the state, creating thousands of IT support jobs in hospitals and physician offices. The exchange was developed by the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients and will be implemented initially at Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring, Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Suburban Hospital in Bethesda and Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park.

Other Maryland hospitals will adopt the CRISP exchange program by 2012.
