Man Sentenced for Illegally Obtaining Patient Data From Baptist Health South Florida

A man convicted of illegally possessing and using patient information from West Kendall Baptist Hospital in Miami, a member of Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida, has been sentenced to 31 months in prison.

According to court documents, the defendant, Cristobal Raul Puig, bought patient information from a West Kendall employee and used the stolen information to file fraudulent income tax returns.
