Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago has tapped MD Interconnect's secure messaging service, called RapidConnect, to streamline clinician communication.
With RapidConnect, a cloud-based mobile messaging platform, Lurie Children's Hospital physicians can notify one another of patient arrivals, coordinate consultations, share test results and otherwise communicate about patient information. The platform also integrates clinicians' call schedules so physicians know who to contact.
The goal of this implementation is to improve communication between the inpatient and outpatient clinical environments, across partner hospitals, satellite clinics and primary care offices.
"One of the goals of our clinically integrated network is to strengthen collaboration between primary care and specialty physicians," said Daniel Lum, MD, medical director of Lurie Children's Health Partners Clinically Integrated Network. "We also need to improve communication between clinicians at our main campus and those at our partner hospitals and satellites."
