The health system made the announcement Jan. 9 via LinkedIn, stating that the program will use cameras for patient checks, streamlined patient information access and virtual connections that allow for support people to participate in care conversations.

“This allows us to lay a stronger foundation and allows us to transform our operations and delivery models for the new era,” Saad Chaudhry, chief digital and information officer of the health system, said in the post.

This comes at a time where many hospitals and health systems have begun rolling out virtual nursing and telesitting initiatives to enhance patient care and give time back to their nursing staff in a time of shortage.
