Los Angeles Valley College, an LACCD campus, discovered the ransomware attack Dec. 30. Its website, email and voicemail systems were up and running by Dec. 31, and classes began as scheduled on Jan. 3.

An investigation of the attack is ongoing, but LACCD believes no information was breached.

“Our top priority in resolving this incident is ensuring that the security and privacy of our students and employees is protected,” LACCD Chancellor Francisco Rodriguez, PhD, said in a statement. “The District will provide updates as additional details are confirmed. In the meantime, we will continue working with law enforcement on their ongoing investigations.”
