Users download the documents they need for the day into the encrypted, HIPAA-compliant app, where they can be accessed locally on the device. Once the device is reconnected to the Internet later in the day, the documents can be uploaded to the online EMR. Once the information is uploaded to the EMR, the data is immediately wiped from the device, enabling better security. The app, launched Jan. 19, is available for iPhone and Android platforms.

It provides an EMR called Kinnser Agency Manager that is web-based and managed, allowing the company to do the updating and managing, unlike a proprietary system, where IT specialists must maintain it.
