Kaiser Permanente names interim CIO

Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente has appointed Richard (Dick) Daniels as interim CIO for Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan, effective immediately.

Mr. Daniels is taking over duties from Philip Fasano, who resigned after seven years as CIO to become executive vice president and CIO at insurance giant AIG.

Mr. Daniels most recently served as senior vice president of enterprise shared service for Kaiser Permanente. Prior, he was senior vice president of Kaiser Permanente’s information technology for health plan and hospital operations. Before joining KP, Mr. Daniels held global IT leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and Capital One.
