Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center has been named one of the top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital’s cardiology, cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization laboratory departments include 21 physicians dedicated to comprehensive cardiac care. The interventional cardiology program at the regional cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Los Angeles Medical Center performs close to 2,000 interventions a year, including 647 cardiac ablations and 862 implantable cardioverter defibrillators. Kaiser Permanente LAMC also emphasizes cardiac research. Earlier this year, cardiovascular physicians were involved in a study — published in the May 2014 issue of The Lancet — that found tailoring the use of saline solution for patients undergoing coronary angiography or stenting procedures that use dye in the process resulted in a 59 percent reduction in kidney damage.
