IT Hiring Increased in February

IT hiring across industries grew modestly in February, suggesting CIOs are slowly but surely adding to their staffs, according to a report in CIO magazine.

The U.S. economy added between 5,000 and 17,600 IT jobs in February, based on analyses from different industry research groups cited in the report. Overall, the country added 175,000 jobs last month, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

The new IT jobs represent an increase relative to the past few months; according to industry group TechServe Alliance, IT hiring rose 0.4 percent in January. Although IT hiring is down from a high point in early 2013, several analysts believe the recent growth will continue, according to CIO magazine.
