“As of today super excited, honored and humbled to start as the CTO and chief architect of [IBM Watson Health],” the tweet reads. Mr. Tanner’s LinkedIn profile states he began working at IBM Watson Health in February.

The Politico Morning eHealth newsletter first reported the executive move.

Mr. Tanner lists himself as a co-founder of PokiDot, a platform-as-a-service company focused on streamlining data operations in healthcare, on his LinkedIn profile. He has worked in architect positions at Apple and Microsoft, and holds several patents related to machine learning, signal processing and signal protection.

It’s not yet clear what Mr. Tanner’s specific responsibilities will be at IBM Watson Health. Becker’s Hospital Review has reached out to IBM Watson Health for comment, and this story will be updated as more information becomes available.
