IBM CEO Ginni Rometty discussed the company's focus on artificial intelligence and cloud computing on CNBC's Mad Money June 20.
"We are the ones that woke up the AI world here," she said. Ms. Rometty said IBM predicts roughly one billion people will interact with the company's Watson platform by the end of the year.
Ms. Rometty added Watson technologies will impact 20,000 cancer patients by the end of 2017. "We'll be able to address, diagnose and treat 80 percent of what causes 80 percent of the cancer in the world," she said. "If that's not motivating, I don't know what is."
