The report, titled 2017 Global Threat Intelligence Report, analyzed attack and vulnerability data from NTT Security clients between Oct. 1, 2015, and Sept. 31, 2016.
Here are four things to know.
1. The top four industries targeted for ransomware attacks are business and professional services (28 percent), government (19 percent), healthcare (15 percent) and retail (15 percent).
2. Half of all cybersecurity incidents in healthcare organizations were related to ransomware attacks.
3. In the Americas, the top three industries encompassed 58 percent of all cyberattacks: manufacturing (23 percent), education (20 percent) and finance (15 percent).
4. Malware was the most common form of cyberattack in the Americas at 15 percent.
