The Atlanta-based health system earned Stage 7 on the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model, which acknowledges healthcare organizations that have improved patient care and safety through health IT.

Grady Health System has implemented multiple health IT programs, including an infectious disease initiative that recommends clinicians screen patients for HIV and links HIV-positive patients to treatment from within the system’s EMR. This program has led to a 96 percent reduction in transmission of HIV for patients in treatment.

Grady Health System is the only adult acute care hospital in Georgia to earn the Stage 7 rating.
