Companies are facing massive tech talent shortages. In September, U.S. employers posted 295,034 unfilled IT positions. In 2020, 161,000 out of 5.6 million tech workers described themselves as self-employed, The Wall Street Journal reported.

- Google Cloud Skills Boost will offer online training, skills development and certification. It will provide more than 700 labs, role-based courses and certification resources.
- Google Cloud Skills Boost features its most in-demand training, including content on machine learning and cloud architecture. Users will be able to personalize their learning paths, track their progress and earn Google Cloud skill badges.
- Users who sign up for the program by Nov. 6 will get their first month free. After the first month, users will pay $50 monthly.
