The HIT Advisory Committee, established under the 21st Century Cures Act, will provide recommendations to the ONC. The committee must include stakeholders like providers, ancillary healthcare workers, health plans, health IT developers, researchers and patients, according to the 21st Century Cures Act.
The 21st Century Cures Act specifies that the Comptroller General of the United States must appoint 14 of 25 members to this committee. Letters of nomination, sent via email or mailing address, are due by April 14, 2017. The final appointments will be made in July 2017.
