Former Obama Navy Secretary joins physician house call app

Heal, an app that connects patients with on-demand physician house calls, named Ray Mabus to its board of directors.

Mr. Mabus served almost eight years as the U.S. Navy Secretary under former President Barack Obama. In this role, he launched the holistic 21st Century Sailor and Marine health improvement plan, which attempted to reduce rates of alcohol abuse, sexual assault and suicide within the Navy.

"Access to convenient and affordable care is a right, not a privilege," Mr. Mabus said in a statement. "I look forward to playing an active role on the board to ensure Heal's progress continues for the betterment of all Americans who strive to gain access to care they need, when and where they need it."
