For Digital Health Startups, Head to California

Unsurprisingly, northern California is home to the majority of new digital health startup companies funded in 2013, according to a Forbes report.

In 2013, nearly 50 digital health startups were funded in California, far surpassing the second most saturated region, the Northeast, which was home to 26 companies.

From 2012 to 2013, almost twice the number of digital health startups in northern California were funded, jumping from 26 to 49, also the largest growth margin.

The rest of the West Coast remained stagnant from 2012 to 2013, remaining at 11 funded companies, as did the Southeast with four funded companies.

The Central/Mountain region was the only region to experience a drop in funded digital health startups, falling from 19 in 2012 to 17 in 2013.
